Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Adds Non-Veg Meal Choice for Passengers

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has updated the food options on the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express that runs between Howrah and Kamakhya. Previously, passengers could only get vegetarian meals, but from now on, they can choose between vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals when booking their tickets online.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed the change on February 1, saying that the new meal choice will be introduced soon for travellers on this route. Earlier menus did not include meat or fish options, which disappointed travellers who wanted non-veg food.
According to IRCTC, the food served on the train celebrates regional flavours from West Bengal and Northeast India, including local Assamese and Bengali tastes. With the revised menu, passengers will now also be able to enjoy chicken-based non-vegetarian dishes, adding variety and catering to local preferences.
This update comes just weeks after the launch of the Vande Bharat Sleeper service, showing that IRCTC is responding to passenger feedback and trying to improve the onboard experience
